Almost every home and a number of public places have doormats at the entrance. People wipe their feet on it before entering. Dirt usually settles at the bottom of shoes and sometimes soils the carpet or floors so the mat is used to avoid this from happening. Your lips keep your tongue inside your mouth…Protected. For you to say something you’d need to open your mouth but before doing so, the same way you dust your feet, think before you speak. Dust your thoughts. Your tongue can be used to sweeten conversation or soil it. It can open a can of worms or it can be like music to a persons ears. Let your speech and presence bring about a harmonious atmosphere-*Aneesa Karolia*

Some can’t wait for winter to be over. They’re tired of jackets and boots and staying indoors. Then the summer arrives and the temperature rises. Sandals, picnic baskets and ice cold drinks time. Life is sometimes hot and sometimes cold. Drink tea on the hottest day, have ice cream on the coldest and take every season as it comes. Its the autumn of life that leads to transition-*Aneesa Karolia*

How many times have we been told not to waste, to put away a nest egg for retirement. Parents worry about a time they might not get to see, believing that they can control what their childrens futures are going to be like. So what happens when you save and save and save. Do you get to see the future you’re banking for. Do those around you become like leeches.

Did you just work to feel wealthy and not actually live. Will your children spend in a short space of time what you’ve worked an entire lifetime for. Live life in moderation. Don’t squander your income and don’t hoard. Use your time and earnings to experience life sensibly. Enjoy the fruits of your labour for you might not get to see that rainy day. Life is meant to be lived, not wasted -*Aneesa Karolia*

People wait eagerly for Cupid to shoot the magical arrow on Valentine’s Day and not miss. Cupid cannot  bring you love. You are real, you have the ability to love and share your love. Love is warm and fuzzy and sometimes it hurts. It is known by many names and shown in many ways. It is felt deep in your heart. Animals, insects and plants understand love. So if you haven’t met the right one yet or you feel less loved, put your hand near your heart and remind yourself that every second, love is coursing through your veins. No person or want completes you. You are whole, you should complement each other and when that happens, love shines through. Your heart is not a target to be shot at, it is more like a time capsule of emotions and with every beat, it pulses poetry of the heart. True love-*Aneesa Karolia*

You decide to do the laundry on a bright sunny day. Not a cloud in sight. Not long after, there’s cloud cover and you hear thunder. Looks like a storm is approaching but you think you still have time so you delay. Then there’s a downpour. It will be useless running outside trying to grab five items at once. They’re soaked. All it will do is leave you drenched. Alternately you could see it as an opportunity to dance in the rain. Some storms we will be prepared for, others not. It is up to you to be pessimistic or optimistic when dealing with the soaked laundry- *Aneesa Karolia*

In most hotels or government buildings they have a few clocks up on a wall with different times in certain countries. Some of them are ahead and others behind. Theres daylight savings time where the clocks are advanced by an hour in the summer. Are people in the different time zones living in the past or future. Surah Al Asr: “By time, indeed, mankind is in loss”. Clock in to life before it ticks away, be part of a past that influences the future in the present- *Aneesa Karolia
